Rescission Notices and Patient Rights

Your health plan or issuer may use a formal rescission notice to give you advance warning that your coverage could be ended because of fraud or intentional misrepresentation of material facts. Plans and issuers will also use a patient protection notification to tell you about your right to choose a primary care provider or pediatrician and to use obstetrical/gynecological services without prior authorization; these provisions were extended to grandfathered health plans for plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2022.
