## In one line

Navy Gets Permission to Disturb Marine Mammals While Fixing Bulkhead

## Summary

The U.S. Navy got the green light to repair and replace the Q8 Bulkhead at Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia, from August 2025 to August 2030. This work might accidentally disturb some marine mammals, but it’s been approved because it won’t harm their populations. The Navy must follow rules to protect these animals while getting the job done.

## Abstract

In accordance with the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA), as amended, and implementing regulations, notification is hereby given that a Letter of Authorization (LOA) has been issued to the U.S. Navy (Navy) for the take of marine mammals incidental to the Q8 Bulkhead repair and replacement project at Naval Station Norfolk in Norfolk, Virginia.
