FAA Renews Helicopter Safety Data Collection Approval

## Summary

The FAA wants to keep collecting info from helicopter air ambulance, commercial, and private helicopter operators to help keep everyone safe. They’re asking for public comments by April 29, 2026, to make sure the info they gather is useful and not too much work. This renewal won’t cost extra but helps the FAA track safety and reduce accidents.

## Abstract

In accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995, FAA invites public comments about our intention to request the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) approval to renew an information collection. The Federal Register Notice with a 60-day comment period soliciting comments on the following collection of information was published on January 29, 2026. The collection involves information related to rules governing Helicopter Air Ambulance, Commercial Helicopter, and Part 91 Helicopter Operations. The information to be collected supports the Department of Transportation's strategic goal of safety. Specifically, the goal is to promote the public health and safety by working toward the elimination of transportation-related deaths and injuries.
