Commerce Hits Korean Wind Towers With New Duties

## Summary

The U.S. checked if Korean wind towers were sold for less than they should be from August 2023 to July 2024 and found they were. This means the Korean company Dongkuk will face extra duties (taxes) when selling these towers in the U.S. starting June 1, 2026. If you’re in the wind energy business, keep an eye on these changes—they could affect prices and imports soon!

## Abstract

The U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) determines that utility scale wind towers (wind towers) from the Republic of Korea (Korea) were made at less than normal value during the period of review (POR) August 1, 2023, through July 31, 2024.

- Importer Reimbursement Certificate Requirement: cost, high. Importers must file a certificate regarding reimbursement of antidumping duties prior to liquidation of relevant entries for this review period. If an importer fails to file the required certificate, Commerce may presume reimbursement occurred and assess double antidumping duties.
