EPA Approves Isofetamid Pesticide Limits for Tree Nuts and Almond Hulls

## Summary

This regulation establishes tolerances for residues of isofetamid in or on nut, tree, group 14-12, and almond, hulls. Under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA) ISK Biosciences Corporation submitted a petition to EPA requesting that EPA establish a maximum permissible level for residues of this pesticide in or on the identified commodities.

## Effects PRIA read

- Tree nut tolerance set at 0.15 ppm: benefit, medium. If you grow, process, or handle tree nuts in crop group 14-12, EPA now allows residues of the fungicide isofetamid up to 0.15 parts per million (ppm) on those commodities. This tolerance is effective August 4, 2026, and objections must be filed by October 5, 2026.
- Almond hulls tolerance raised to 20 ppm: benefit, medium. EPA established a tolerance allowing isofetamid residues on almond hulls at 20 parts per million (ppm), effective August 4, 2026. The rule finalizes that 20 ppm level and sets October 5, 2026 as the deadline to file objections or hearing requests.
- Removal of raw almond tolerance entry: cost, low. The final rule removes the entry for 'Almond' from the isofetamid tolerance table in 40 CFR 180.681, effective August 4, 2026. If you object to this change you must file by October 5, 2026.
