Army Grabs Oklahoma Public Land for Fort Sill War Games

## Summary

The U.S. Army wants to reserve 10.32 acres of public land in Comanche County, Oklahoma, for military training at Fort Sill for the next 20 years. This means the land will be set aside for Army use but still open for some mineral leasing. The public has 90 days to comment or ask for a meeting before a final decision is made.

## Abstract

The United States Department of the Army (Army) has filed an application with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) requesting that the Secretary of the Interior (Secretary) withdraw 10.32 acres of public land in Comanche County, Oklahoma, subject to valid existing rights, and reserve the land for use of the Army for military purposes for 20 years. The purpose of the withdrawal is for military training at the Fort Sill military reservation. Publication of this notice initiates a 90-day public comment period and announces to the public an opportunity to request a public meeting on the Army's withdrawal application.
