VA Tweaks Vet Reimbursement Forms—Feedback Welcome!

## Summary

The VA is updating its reimbursement claim forms for Veterans who pay out-of-pocket for medical and pharmacy costs. They want your feedback by November 23, 2026, to make sure the forms are clear and easy to use. This update affects Veterans filing claims and aims to speed up the process without adding extra hassle or cost.

## Abstract

Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), is announcing an opportunity for public comment on the proposed collection of certain information by the agency. Under the Paperwork Reduction Act (PRA) of 1995, Federal agencies are required to publish a notice in the Federal Register concerning each proposed collection of information, including each proposed extension of a currently approved collection, and allow 60 days for public comment in response to the notice.

## Effects PRIA read

- Two new VA reimbursement forms: benefit, low. VA will replace VA Form 10-320 with two new forms: VA Form 10-485 for prescription drug reimbursement and VA Form 10-487 for certain emergent medical or transportation cost reimbursement. VA Form 10-320 will be discontinued when the two new forms are approved and published for use by Veterans.
- Paperwork time per reimbursement claim: cost, low. The VA estimates an average burden of 10 minutes per respondent for each new form filing. Estimated annual responses total 30,000 (29,000 for Form 10-485 and 1,000 for Form 10-487) with a total annual burden of 5,000 hours.
