Spanish Olives Get Tangled in a Federal Subsidy Review

## Summary

The U.S. Department of Commerce found that some Spanish olive producers got unfair government help during 2024, which could affect import duties. They’re stopping the review for four companies but continuing with others. This means importers and exporters should watch for possible changes in fees starting November 4, 2026.

## Abstract

The U.S. Department of Commerce (Commerce) preliminarily finds that countervailable subsidies were provided to producers and exporters of ripe olives from Spain. The period of review (POR) is January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024. In addition, Commerce is rescinding this review, in part, with respect to four companies. Interested parties are invited to comment on these preliminary results.
