FAA Clears Airport Land for Industrial Use in South Dakota

## Summary

The FAA plans to change nearly 5 acres of land at Watertown Regional Airport from airport use to industrial use and sell it. This land, already used for industrial purposes, won’t affect airport operations. People have until December 7, 2026, to share their thoughts on this plan.

## Abstract

The FAA is considering a proposal to change approximately 4.99 acres of airport land from aeronautical use to non-aeronautical use and to authorize the sale of airport property located at the Watertown Regional Airport, Watertown, SD. The aforementioned land is not needed for aeronautical use. The subject property is made up of two parcels of airport property known as the Lot 4 (2.0 acres) and Dakota Tube (2.99 acres) parcels. These parcels are located north of the airport, along the east side of Airport Drive. Both properties are currently being used for industrial purposes and will continue to be used for the same purpose in the future.
