Commerce Wants Waiver Forms for Polysilicon Import Restrictions

## Summary

The Department of Commerce is asking for public feedback on a new process that lets importers apply to skip certain rules about bringing polysilicon and its related products into the U.S. This comes after the President set new import price rules to protect national security. If you import these materials, you’ll want to know about this by January 5, 2027, as it could affect your costs and paperwork.

## Abstract

The purpose of this notice is to allow for 60 days of public comment on the OMB approved emergency collection for the Temporary Final Rule "Measures To Restrict Stockpiling of Polysilicon and Polysilicon Derivatives Under Proclamation 11052" (September 24, 2026, 91 FR 60505).
