## Effects PRIA read

- Two-Year Renewal of Electronic Export Pilot: benefit, medium. CBP is renewing the voluntary Document Image System (DIS) pilot for exporting used self-propelled vehicles for two years starting November 6, 2026 and running until November 6, 2028. If you export these vehicles, you can choose to join the pilot to submit ownership documents electronically instead…
- Original Paper Documents Waived for Participants: benefit, low. For pilot participants, CBP will waive the regulatory requirement to present original physical copies of ownership documents and will accept electronic submission via DIS (EDI/ABI or email). CBP still reserves the right to request original paper documents on an as-needed basis and participants must…
- EEI and ITN Filing Still Required Before DIS: cost, low. Participants must file the Electronic Export Information (EEI) in the Automated Export System (AES) and obtain an Internal Transaction Number (ITN) prior to submitting ownership documents via DIS; the EEI must be filed 72 hours before export. The pilot does not change other regulatory requirements…
- Automated Confirmation Can Show Compliance: benefit, low. When you submit ownership documents through DIS, you will receive an automated response in the same format you used (EDI or email) confirming receipt. You can use that automated response together with the AES-generated ITN to demonstrate you met CBP's reporting requirements.
- Participant Identity Not Confidential from FOIA: cost, low. Data submitted into ACE is generally protected, but participation in this or any ACE pilot is not confidential: CBP will disclose the name(s) of approved pilot participants if requested under the Freedom of Information Act. Participation could therefore lead to disclosure of your business name via…
