## Summary

**Directs a study to determine whether the Great Dismal Swamp should be designated a National Heritage Area.** The Secretary of the Interior must work with Virginia and North Carolina officials, Tribal governments, local groups, and nonprofits to evaluate specified cities and counties and nearby lands for their natural, historic, and cultural resources, community support, a potential management partner, a conceptual financial plan, and a boundary map, and must report findings to Congress within three years after funds are first made available.
