## Summary

**This law lets the Secretary of Veterans Affairs transfer names of Department properties** to other covered Department properties when a narrow set of conditions are met. The law requires the original name to come from statute, the Department to no longer offer benefits or services at the original site, the receiving property to be similar in type and purpose and at a different address within the same named locality, and at least 30 days notice to the House and Senate Veterans' Affairs committees and to the State's members of Congress, and it makes legal and regulatory references to the old name apply to the new property while defining covered property to include facilities, structures, real property, and major portions like wings or floors.
