## Summary

**Protecting shipment manifests and personal data from public disclosure.** This law limits what parts of cargo manifests are available to the public. The Treasury Secretary can block disclosure for each shipment if releasing details is likely to cause personal injury or property damage, or if the information is exempt under federal law. It also requires removal of personally identifiable information such as Social Security numbers and passport numbers before any manifest is made public. The change takes effect 30 days after enactment.
