## Summary

**Accountable, time‑bound responses to Federal Protective Service security recommendations.** The law makes Facility Security Committees answer within set deadlines, explain costs and risks when they reject security fixes, and boosts DHS oversight and public reporting on those decisions. - Federal tenants and Facility Security Committees must say within 90 days whether they will adopt or reject an FPS recommendation and spell out the financial implications. If they reject a recommendation they must justify the accepted risk. - The Department of Homeland Security must track recommendations and committee responses, take reasonable steps to ensure timely replies, and brief relevant congressional committees each year. Reports must show acceptance and rejection rates, response timeliness, justifications, cost analyses, mitigation steps, and trend analysis. - Transparency increases for Congress and the public with an unclassified annual report due 270 days after enactment and a required unredacted report on recommended surveillance technologies within 180 days. The law applies to GSA facilities and non‑GSA facilities that pay FPS fees and sunsets after five years with a GAO evaluation. *Does not authorize additional appropriations to carry out its purposes.*

- Unredacted surveillance tech report to Congress: benefit, low. Within 180 days of enactment, the Homeland Security Secretary sends Congress an unredacted report. It lists every surveillance technology the Federal Protective Service recommends. It explains how each tool is intended to be used.
- Covered facilities and no new funds: cost, low. The law defines a Facility Security Committee. It includes all federal tenants, the facility’s security office, and the owning or leasing tenant. The law applies only to GSA buildings protected by the Federal Protective Service and to non-GSA sites that pay FPS fees. The law does not authorize new…
- Five-year sunset with GAO review: mixed, low. The law ends five years after enactment. By that time, the Comptroller General gives Congress a report on how well the law worked. This review helps Congress decide what to do next.
