## Summary

**Fixes the size of the Supreme Court at nine justices.** This proposed constitutional amendment would add an Article stating the Supreme Court shall be composed of nine justices: one chief justice and eight associate justices. It would take effect only if three-fourths of state legislatures ratify it within seven years after Congress submits it under the Constitution's normal amendment process. The amendment does not change how justices are appointed, their terms, impeachment rules, jurisdiction, or create funding or new programs.
