## Summary

**Designates an official residence for the Speaker of the House.** This joint resolution would require the Department of War to select a facility within 180 days and, in consultation with the Architect of the Capitol, to furnish, maintain, repair, alter, secure, and staff the residence for official use. It would allow amounts appropriated for the Department's operation and maintenance to cover furnishings, improvements, utilities and communications, security services, and official staffing. It would not create ownership or a personal property interest for the Speaker.
