## Summary

**Blocks federal funding for the Department of Homeland Security's 'Public Charge' rule.** This bill would prohibit the use of any federal funds or fees to implement, administer, enforce, or carry out that rule or any guidance that implements or clarifies it. - Immigrant and mixed-status families: Would be more able to maintain access to food, medical care, and housing programs without fear that using benefits will affect immigration status. - State and local governments and service providers: Would avoid some of the economic and public-health burdens the rule's preamble warned could increase uncompensated care and harm community health. - Department of Homeland Security and immigration operations: Would be barred from using federal dollars or fees to put the Public Charge rule or related guidance into effect.
