## Summary

**Guarantees congressional access to immigration detention facilities.** This bill would bar the Secretary of Homeland Security from stopping Members of Congress or their congressional staff from entering any facility used to detain or house aliens. It would also ban requiring advance notice for oversight visits and bar temporary changes designed to alter what visitors observe. - Members of Congress and staff would be able to enter DHS detention facilities for oversight without prior notice and without being prevented from observing conditions. - The Secretary of Homeland Security would be prohibited from blocking entry, requiring notice, or making temporary modifications that change what a visitor would see. - The Department of Homeland Security Inspector General must report to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees within 30 days if it finds a material failure to comply. - People held in these facilities would face oversight visits that are intended to reflect conditions as they exist without special modifications.
