## Summary

**Builds climate‑ready, lower‑emissions health care facilities.** The GREEN Hospitals Act would create grant programs to fund resilience, decarbonization, and community‑focused upgrades at hospitals and other medical facilities and would authorize $100 billion for GREEN Hill‑Burton funds and $5 billion for a Planning and Evaluation Grant Program. - Medical facilities: Hospitals, clinics, long‑term care and other covered facilities could receive grants and planning funds for onsite renewable energy and storage, high‑efficiency heating and cooling, improved air filtration and monitoring, green roofs and wetlands, and upgrades to keep access routes open during disasters. - Underserved patients and communities: The bill gives selection priority to facilities serving Medicare/Medicaid populations, uninsured patients, and neighborhoods with high pollution or climate risk, and requires at least 50 percent of planning grant funds go to environmental justice communities. - Workers and local hiring: Grant recipients must pay prevailing wages, give assurances about collective bargaining rights, and cannot require trainees or workers to repay training costs as a condition of employment. *Would authorize about $105 billion in federal funding for these programs for fiscal year 2026, increasing federal funding available for climate resilience in health care.*
