## Summary

**Hands-on flight-deck familiarization for certified air traffic controllers.** This bill would require the FAA to create, within one year, a voluntary program that lets certified air traffic controllers sit in the flight deck for at least one round trip on participating commercial passenger, cargo, powered lift, or general aviation flights across the United States and territories. Participation would be voluntary, require management approval, be subject to operational and staffing limits, include no expense reimbursement, and count as on-duty time. The FAA would consult pilot and controller bargaining representatives, may add ticketing and security requirements, and must report after one year on participation numbers, flight-type shares, barriers, and recommendations.
