## Summary

**Creates a national historical park to preserve and interpret the experiences of 982 World War II refugees at Fort Ontario.** The bill would establish the Fort Ontario Holocaust Refugee Shelter National Historical Park in New York as a unit of the National Park System once the Secretary of the Interior determines enough land or interests in land within the map's Proposed Boundary has been acquired. The Secretary must publish a Federal Register notice within 30 days of that determination and the map dated September 2024 will be on file. The Secretary may enter cooperative agreements with the State or other partners for interpretation and restoration. Land within the boundary may be acquired by donation, purchase with donated or appropriated funds, or exchange, and land owned by the State or a political subdivision may be acquired only by donation. A general management plan must be completed within three fiscal years after funds are made available.
