**Digitizes survivor benefits applications.** This bill would require the Social Security Commissioner to create an online portal that lets people schedule appointments within 180 days and file survivor benefit applications online within 1 year. - Families and survivors: Surviving spouses and dependents would be able to book appointments online within 180 days and submit survivor benefit applications through the portal within 1 year. - Social Security Administration: The Commissioner would develop and operate the portal and must report to Congress within 3 years on changes in application volume, costs or savings, and any change in fraudulent applications. - Funding and oversight: The bill authorizes such sums as may be necessary to implement the portal and the required report.
