## Summary

**Critical Infrastructure AI Cyber Defense Pilot Program** would create a five-year pilot that lets owners and operators of critical infrastructure use artificial intelligence and technical help from the Department of Homeland Security to detect, test for, and fix cybersecurity vulnerabilities. - Owners and operators of critical infrastructure would be able to apply each year for AI tools and technical assistance to find and remediate cyber flaws. The program prioritizes not-for-profit, publicly owned, rural, and small entities. - The Department of Homeland Security, through the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, would procure AI, provide technical help, and award grants to participants. The Secretary must report monthly to Congress and the Comptroller General on grants awarded and their recipients. - The bill authorizes $100 million in appropriations for fiscal years 2027 through 2031 and limits administrative spending to 5 percent of those amounts. The pilot would terminate five years after enactment. *If enacted, this bill would authorize up to $100 million in appropriations for 2027–2031, increasing federal outlays if those funds are provided.*
