## Summary

**Classifies lethal air guns as firearms under federal law.** It would bring weapons that fire pellets at specified calibers and velocities under the Gun Control Act, subjecting them to the same federal rules as other firearms while giving manufacturers time and guidance to comply. - Manufacturers: Would need to obtain Federal firearms licenses and follow serialization and recordkeeping rules. The Attorney General must publish guidance within 365 days and the change takes effect 850 days after enactment. - Buyers and owners: Lethal air guns would be covered by federal background checks and eligibility limits when those rules apply. That changes who can buy or possess these weapons under federal law. - Dealers and law enforcement: Dealers selling these air guns must follow federal licensing and recordkeeping requirements. Federal prosecutors and agents could use existing firearms statutes in cases involving these weapons.
