## Summary

**Creates a temporary, administrative pathway to obtain and correct federal personnel records and to coordinate benefits through the Office of Personnel Management (OPM).** This bill would set up a short, time-limited process for former federal employees and annuitants to request records fixes and enrollment help without changing the legal characterization of their separations except after a final legal determination. - Former federal employees and annuitants: Would gain a way to request corrections to SF-50s and other personnel records and to get information on benefits enrollment, coverage end dates, and continuation options, including temporary continuation under 5 U.S.C. 8905a. Requests must be for separations on or after January 20, 2025 and submitted within a four-year window. - OPM and former employing agencies: Would be required to implement the process via the Retirement Services Office and to search for and provide needed personnel records while following applicable record laws. - Households relying on benefits: Would get administrative help to confirm enrollment and continuity of benefits during transitions, which could reduce gaps in coverage.
