## Summary

**Stops AI-driven voter deception.** This bill would bar the use of advanced algorithms to deprive, defraud, intimidate, or coerce voters and election workers and would force clearer labeling of AI election content. - Voters and election workers: It would make using covered algorithms to lie about voting times, places, eligibility, ballot counting, endorsements, or to intimidate or interfere with registration and voting a crime punishable under title 18, with fines or up to 1 year in prison. - Developers and deployers: Developers would face a legal "Duty of Care" to make covered algorithms safe and effective. Deployers must add clear disclaimers on synthetic candidate imagery or voting information, for example the explicit text "AI Disclaimer: This output was generated by artificial intelligence" or an "AI" symbol, and developers must give tools to include those labels and make them hard to remove when feasible. The Federal Trade Commission must write detailed rules within 2 years. - Oversight and outreach: The Federal Trade Commission would enforce the disclaimer and duty-of-care rules under its unfair practices authority with FTC-aligned penalties. The bill also requires a 5-year public education program and a report to Congress on disclaimer use and effectiveness.
