## Summary

**National Centers for Coastal Ocean Science (NCCOS)** would be created inside the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to coordinate research and monitoring of coastal, ocean, and Great Lakes habitats. It would provide technical assistance, run competitive grants and cooperative agreements, and align NOAA science to support fisheries, public health, coastal economies, and community resilience. - Coastal communities and local businesses would get better science and observation data to guide resilience planning, seafood safety, and tourism decisions. - Fisheries and wildlife managers would receive long-term studies and monitoring needed to track trends and support responsible resource management and public health protections. - Universities, Tribal governments, states, and non-governmental partners could access competitive grants and cooperative agreements to fund studies and monitoring work. *Would authorize $75.0 million per year for fiscal years 2027 through 2033, totaling $525.0 million in authorizations and increasing federal spending if appropriated.*
