## Summary

**This bill would rename the Office of Technology Assessment as the Congressional Office of Technology and create a framework to deliver faster, public technology assessments for Congress.** It would require quicker technical help, horizon scanning for emerging tech, and stronger Board oversight to speed and publicize science and technology advice. - Members and committees: They could request technical assistance and receive information or policy options within 14 calendar days. Formal assessments could be requested by any Member, committee, the Board, or the Director. - Board and oversight: Congressional leaders would jointly appoint Board members. The Board must hold at least one meeting each year and publish an annual report within 90 days after year-end that tracks requests and partisan distribution of formal assessments. - Public access, staff, and coordination: Findings of completed analyses must be made public. The Director could appoint experts on leave for up to 1 year and the Office must coordinate with the Congressional Research Service and the Government Accountability Office to avoid duplication.
