## Summary

**Extends the Freedom of Information Act to entities established under section 3161 of title 5.** - Members of the public and reporters would gain the right to file FOIA requests for records held by any entity created under section 3161, as long as the FOIA request is made on or after the law's enactment. These requests can seek records even if those records were created before enactment. - Entities established under section 3161 would become subject to FOIA processing and obligations for requests received after enactment. They would need to handle disclosures and exemptions just like other covered agencies.
