## Summary

**mandatory scientific integrity policies** would require federal agencies that fund, conduct, or oversee research to adopt and enforce clear rules protecting the scientific process and open communication of findings. - Federal scientists and contractors would gain explicit protections against suppression, alteration, coercion, and retaliation, plus required ethics and integrity training and onboarding within 1 month. - Agency leaders would have to adopt approved scientific integrity policies and appoint a career Scientific Integrity Officer within 90 days, and set up administrative dispute and appeal processes within 180 days. - Oversight and transparency would increase through annual reports, 30 day incident notices to the Office of Science and Technology Policy and relevant congressional committees, and an OSTP-run public hub and yearly convening of officers.
