## Summary

**A national study of Black history education in public elementary and secondary schools.** This bill would direct the Director of the National Museum of African American History and Culture to begin a study within 180 days and complete it within three years. The study would identify which States and local educational agencies require Black history instruction and which do not. It would assess the quality of instruction using qualitative and quantitative indicators, review instructional materials and course duration, evaluate teaching methods including project-based learning, analyze how schools assess student knowledge, and require the Director to submit a report of findings to Congress within 180 days after the study ends.
