## Summary

**Allow colleges to use FAFSA tax-return information for TRIO programs**. This bill would let institutions of higher education use certain tax return data they receive for financial aid to also support Federal TRIO services like Student Support Services and the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program. - Students: Low-income and first-generation students could be more easily referred to TRIO services because institutions could use FAFSA tax information to consider them for those programs as well as for financial aid. - Colleges and administrators: Institutions would be permitted to use disclosed return information solely for awarding financial aid and for administering programs under sections 402D and 402E. - TRIO programs: Student Support Services and the McNair program could receive broader informational support from FAFSA disclosures to help run outreach and services.

## Provisions PRIA read

Schools could use it to run Student Support Services and the McNair program. They would have to use the data only for financial aid or those TRIO purposes. It would also let schools request IRS data…
