## Summary

**Strengthen national traumatic brain injury surveillance and expand funding and state support.** This bill would reauthorize and widen federal programs to prevent, detect, and treat traumatic brain injury by improving data, outreach, and grants to states and tribes. - People with TBI and their families would get better information and research. The bill would expand data on causes, risk factors, long‑term or chronic symptoms, and require a public study and report within 2 years. - States and Tribal consortia would have expanded access to grants for prevention, treatment, and protection services, with updated eligibility and outreach for higher‑risk populations and a maintenance‑of‑effort rule that the Secretary may waive up to 50 percent in a given year. - Federal public health work would be centralized and more transparent. The Bill Pascrell, Jr. National Program would expand surveillance to identify higher‑risk groups, add interagency coordination, require CDC to post aggregated TBI and concussion data online, and move certain prevention baselines from 2020 to 2030. *If fully funded, this bill would increase federal spending by about $22.4 million per year from 2026 through 2030.*
