## Summary

**Streamlined out-of-state provider enrollment for Medicaid and CHIP.** This bill would create a faster enrollment path so eligible providers in another State can serve children enrolled in Medicaid or CHIP with only the minimum information needed for payment. - Families and children: Children under 21 could get care from qualified out-of-state providers more quickly because those providers could enroll to furnish, order, prescribe, refer, or certify services without extra state screening. - Out-of-state providers: Eligible providers who are screened as low risk and already enrolled in Medicare or a State plan could enroll for a 5-year period using only their name and National Provider Identifier (NPI). - State Medicaid and CHIP agencies: States could adopt this optional process and must limit screening to what is minimally necessary for payment. The rule would take effect three years after enactment.
