## Summary

**Requires an independent Comptroller General review of the Department of Government Efficiency.** This bill would direct the Comptroller General to prepare a report on actions taken by the Department of Government Efficiency and deliver it to Congress by December 31, 2025. - Congress would receive a GAO analysis of how actions like cutting civil service staff, terminating programs, or pausing and restarting programs affect the nation’s long-term financial position, public health, and safety. - Federal employees would see their staffing changes examined. The report would focus on actions that reduce the number of civil service employees and the effects on workforce operations. - Communities and program beneficiaries would get an assessment of program terminations, pauses, and restarts and how those moves influence public health and safety outcomes. - The Comptroller General would assess the department’s compliance with the Privacy Act of 1974 (section 552a of title 5) and with chapter 131 of title 5.
