## Summary

**Commemorative coins recognizing the Erie Canal bicentennial.** This bill would require the Secretary of the Treasury to mint and issue commemorative coins during 2026: up to 50,000 five-dollar gold coins, 400,000 one-dollar silver coins, and 750,000 half-dollar clad coins. Designs must be emblematic of the Erie Canal and carry “2026,” “Liberty,” “In God We Trust,” “United States of America,” and “E Pluribus Unum.” Coins sell at face value plus a surcharge and the cost of minting.
