## Summary

**Would create a federal safe harbor for equipment used to detect fentanyl and xylazine.** This bill would add subsection (g) to Section 422 of the Controlled Substances Act to clarify that Section 422's restrictions would not apply to the possession, sale, purchase, importation, exportation, or transportation of equipment whose intended use is to indicate the presence of fentanyl or xylazine in a compound. The amendment is limited to adding that new subsection at the end of section 422.
