## Summary

**A Congressional Gold Medal honoring Edward J. Dwight Jr.** would be authorized to recognize his role as the first African-American astronaut candidate and his contributions to art and Black history. The Secretary of the Treasury would strike a single gold medal, determine its design, and the Speaker of the House together with the Senate President pro tempore would present it. The medal would be given to Edward J. Dwight Jr. or, if he is unavailable, to Curtis Christopher Dwight. The Secretary could also strike and sell bronze duplicates at prices set to cover costs. All medals would be treated as national medals and numismatic items under federal law, and related costs and sales proceeds would be handled through the United States Mint Public Enterprise Fund.
