## Summary

This bill would **ban discrimination based on hair texture or hairstyles associated with race or national origin**. It would extend those protections across federally funded programs, employment, housing, and public accommodations. - Students and people in federally funded programs would be protected from exclusion, denial of benefits, or other discrimination because of hair textures or styles such as tightly coiled or tightly curled hair, locs, cornrows, twists, braids, Bantu knots, and Afros. Enforcement is modeled on Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. - Workers would be shielded from hiring, firing, or other workplace discrimination tied to hair texture or hairstyle, with enforcement modeled on Title VII. - Renters, homebuyers, and visitors would be barred from housing and public accommodations rules that target hair types or styles. The bill aligns enforcement with the Fair Housing Act, Title II frameworks, and extends protections under 42 U.S.C. 1981.
