## Summary

**Lowers the federal minimum age to buy a handgun from 21 to 18.** This bill would amend federal firearms law by striking the age restriction in 18 U.S.C. 922(b)(1) that bars licensed dealers from selling handguns to people under 21 and by making a conforming change to 18 U.S.C. 922(c)(1). The lone substantive effect is to set the universal minimum age for acquiring a handgun from a Federal firearms licensee at 18.
