## Summary

**Bans slaughter of equines for human consumption.** This bill would amend Section 12515 of the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (7 U.S.C. 2160) by changing the section heading from 'dogs and cats' to 'dogs, cats, and equines' and by replacing each occurrence of 'a dog or cat' with 'a dog, cat, or equine', thereby extending the statutory prohibition that currently covers dogs and cats to include equines.
