## Summary

**Medicare coverage for acupuncture** would add acupuncture to the list of services Medicare could cover and create rules for who counts as a qualified acupuncturist. - Medicare enrollees would be able to receive acupuncture services and related supplies when furnished by a qualified acupuncturist. - Qualified acupuncturists would be defined as state‑licensed acupuncturists or physicians authorized by state law to perform acupuncture; for states without licensure the Secretary could recognize national certification criteria. - Payment rules would place these services under the Medicare physician fee schedule, update institutional payment provisions, and allow separate billing for inpatient hospitals.
