## Summary

**Creates voluntary interconnectivity standards for precision agriculture equipment.** The bill would have USDA work with the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the Federal Communications Commission to build private-sector led, consensus standards, guidelines, and best practices while the Government Accountability Office monitors progress. - Farmers and ranchers: Would get common standards to make sensors, GPS, yield monitors, and other precision tools work together, which aims to lower the hassle and cost of adopting precision technology. - Equipment makers and software providers: Encourages private-sector consensus standards to improve interoperability and promote U.S. leadership in standards development and defines "trusted providers" and "foreign adversary" to frame supply chain risk. - Federal agencies and oversight: USDA must develop the standards within 2 years and consult state, local, and sector agencies. The GAO would review the standards 1 year after they are developed and then every 2 years for the next 8 years.
