## Summary

**Establishes a Space National Guard** as a state-based component of the organized militias and as the reserve component of the U.S. Space Force. It would transfer specific Air National Guard space and electromagnetic warfare units into that Guard and relocate the National Guard Bureau's space operations director into the new role. - Servicemembers in named units: Members of the listed Air National Guard squadrons and groups would become the Space National Guard, bringing 14 named units under a single, federally recognized space component. - States and administration: Seven states — Alaska, California, Colorado, Florida, Hawaii, New York, and Ohio — are specified to host units, and each unit must be organized under its state's Assistant Adjutant General for the Air Force. The bill also prohibits adding any personnel beyond those enumerated. - National Guard leadership: The Director of Space Operations at the National Guard Bureau would move to the Space National Guard as its Director, hold the rank of Brigadier General, and report to the Director of the Air National Guard.
