## Summary

**This bill would expand postal law enforcement and give the Postmaster General authority to set and enforce rules on USPS property.** It adds Postal Service police officers to the statutory list of USPS law enforcement personnel and lets the Postmaster General prescribe regulations for protecting and managing Postal Service property and people on that property. - Postal law enforcement: Postal Service police officers would be explicitly named alongside Postal Inspectors in 18 U.S.C. 3061(a), formally expanding the enumerated USPS enforcement cadre. - Rulemaking power: The Postmaster General would be able to create and require conspicuous posting of regulations for property owned, occupied, or under the charge and control of the Postal Service. - Penalties: Violations of those posted regulations could be punished by a fine under Title 18, imprisonment for not more than 30 days, or both. - Who is affected: Postal Service police and other postal employees gain clearer statutory status, and people on USPS property become subject to the new posted rules and penalties.
