## Summary

**Limits foreign purchases of U.S. agricultural land** by requiring foreign buyers to follow the same restrictions they face in their home country and by adding federal reporting and national security review. - Foreign buyers would be held to their home country’s rules for buying U.S. agricultural land, with special rules for dual citizens and companies. For companies, the home country is the one with the most restrictive laws where at least 5 percent of owners are citizens. - Sellers must report any sale of agricultural land to the Secretary of Agriculture. The Secretary must also notify the State senator and the House member for the district where the land sits. - A U.S. Land Protection Task Force chaired by the Secretary of Agriculture and including CFIUS, the Department of Justice national security division, and the State Department would identify violations. The Task Force would report to Congress within 1 year and every 6 months after that with data on land sales by state and type, average cost, title history, and whether land lies within 100 miles of a military installation. Definitions mirror the Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act and the bill includes severability language.
