## Summary

**This bill would require documentary proof of U.S. citizenship for federal voter registration** and expand verification, data sharing, and removal procedures to identify noncitizens from federal voter rolls. - Voters and applicants: People registering for Federal elections would need to provide listed documents such as REAL ID–compliant ID, birth or naturalization certificates, or a Qualified American Indian Card. The national mail registration form would add a field to record the document type. - States and election officials: States would have to verify citizenship before registering someone to vote in Federal elections and rely on Department of Homeland Security (DHS) tools including the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program and the Social Security Administration (SSA) verification service. States must implement programs to identify noncitizens within 30 days and share certain information within 24 hours. - People without documents and enforcement: The Election Assistance Commission (EAC) must create a uniform affidavit and processes for applicants who lack proof, and provisional ballots can still be counted if citizenship is later verified. The bill authorizes removing noncitizens from Federal voter lists, expands private suits under the law, and increases criminal penalties for assisting noncitizen registration or voting.
