## Summary

**Expands VA health coverage to include infertility treatments and fertility preservation for veterans and their partners.** This bill would authorize the Department of Veterans Affairs to furnish assisted reproductive technology and standard fertility preservation services under defined rules and limits. - Veterans and partners: Eligible veterans enrolled in VA care who have infertility or are at risk of infertility and partners chosen by those veterans could receive infertility treatments and storage of gametes and embryos. - IVF limits and consent: The VA could provide up to 3 completed in vitro fertilization cycles that result in live birth or up to 10 attempted IVF cycles. Treatment may use donated gametes or embryos and requires consent from the covered individual, the veteran if the patient is a partner, and any third party donor. - Implementation and interim access: The Secretary must issue regulations within one year and, during the 180-day interim period, ensure partners can receive counseling and treatment regardless of marriage and allow use of donated gametes or embryos to preserve continuity of care. - Legal and travel rules: State law will determine custody and disposition of gametes and embryos and the VA would deem a partner receiving treatment eligible for veteran beneficiary travel payments.
