## Summary

**Raises the minimum age to buy certain semiautomatic centerfire rifles and shotguns to 21.** It would also require a short FBI report on how the agency’s public access line shares information with field offices. - Young adults and families: People under 21 would be prohibited from buying semiautomatic centerfire rifles or shotguns that accept more than five rounds unless they are a "qualified individual." The current ban on delivering any firearm or ammunition to someone under 18 remains. - Federal firearms licensees and sellers: Licensees would be barred from selling or delivering the specified semiautomatic weapons to buyers under 21 unless the buyer meets the bill's "qualified individual" exceptions. The law reorganizes federal age rules into a three-part transfer test and defines "ammunition feeding device." - FBI public access line: The FBI Director would have 90 days to report to the House and Senate Judiciary Committees on current protocols for sharing information between the public access line and field offices and to recommend improvements.
